There’s nothing I love more than testing out Indian skincare brands that actually use practical ingredients. I recently came across Sahajan, a brand that works with South Asian practitioners to deliver “real” Ayurvedic products that actually do more than just feel good on your skin. They actually help improve skin texture, dark circles and common skin issues most other brands fail to solve.
And I speak from experience.
I recently tried the brand’s Golden Glow Eye Balm to see if this was finally the product that helped ease my dark circles and brighten my eyes in general. Spoiler: it worked.

This balm uses ghee, or clarified butter, to deeply nourish the skin. When I was younger, elders would often use ghee-made concoctions on both skin and hair, so it was very nostalgic to have that same formula on my skin almost 20 years later.
Apart from ghee, the balm also uses rose oil, which soothes, tightens and tones the under-eye area. Finally, it contains something called Gotu Kola, which is an Ayurvedic leaf known for its age-defying properties. In fact, it’s meant to boost collagen production and fortify the lipid barrier for firmer skin.
The entire formula is soft and blends easily into my under-eye skin. It’s definitely on the oilier side, but I like that, and my skin is quick to absorb it. The result is glowy, softer under-eyes, without the raccoon-like dark circles I’ve been waking up with every morning.
When I first received the container, I thought, “Wow, this is a small container,” but since you’re only using an extremely small amount below both eyes, this balm will last you a few months.
I usually scoop out a tiny bit, warm it up between my fingers and then apply it straight onto my skin. Then, I gently massage it into my under-eye area. This balm is best used overnight, too. You apply a pea-sized amount — actually, half a pea-sized amount — and wake up the next morning with brighter, more refreshed eyes.
As I inch closer to 30, it’s been imperative for me to find a way to calm the shadows under my eyes, and nothing has worked until Sahajan’s under-eye cream. Not only does my under-eye area feel plumper and more hydrated, but I also feel like I shaved five years off my life, which is always a win.
Shop Sahajan’s under-eye balm and experience these results for yourself.
