When Are Black Friday Deals Live?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are usually live starting Monday, 24 November, all the way through to December 1. Some deals will also spill into the first week of December — these are essentially called Cyber Week deals.

What Should You Shop on Black Friday?

Necessities, luxury picks and anything else you’ve had your eye on. Black Friday will discount everything from Apple products to Casper pillows. If you’ve been waiting to take the plunge and finally buy that new pair of headphones or upgrade your bedding, now’s the time to buy.

As someone who’s covered Black Friday and Cyber Monday for over 10 years, I can assure you this is the best time to get your holiday shopping done as well. Prices will spike back up mid-December and worse — shipping delays will be prevalent. Shop for all your Christmas and Hanukkah gifts now before you miss out.

Are Online Black Friday Deals Just as Good as In-Store?

Short answer — yes. But unlike immediately going home with your purchase, you may have to wait a few days to get your Black Friday orders in. Big retailers promise 2-day shipping (like Amazon) but if you’re not a Prime member, you may be waiting more than a week for your order.

That said, retail lines are long, and stores will be crowded. Stock and inventory will also run out faster in retail stores — especially for clothing. My advice? Buy online and pick up in-store if you’re in a rush. Otherwise, shop everything online — it will save you a ton of headache.
